Many of you may have heard that Beyonce is living a vegan lifestyle these days to get in shape for her Coachella concert in mid-April. The singer announced her dietary change to her millions of followers on Instagram with a pic of avocado toast and the caption: “44 days until Coachella!! Vegan time!!” After causing a huge buzz on Instagram from her post, she made a tweet to her 121 million followers inviting them to join her on her vegan journey. What she didn’t do was arm her fans with a plan to get started.

If you’re one of the people considering going vegan like Beyonce, here are five dishes to help you transition.

Veggie Burgers

For many of you starting your vegan journey, it may be hard to stick to just eating dishes with vegetables, especially if you still have temptations to eat meat. If you want the experience of eating meat but not the guilt, try eating a veggie burger! They are loaded with protein, tasty and just as filling as the real deal. You can buy veggie burger patties in the frozen section of your grocery story.

Vegan Pizza

It may be hard for some of you to image pizza without sausage, ground beef, bacon or cheese but there is a healthier alternative—vegan pizza! You can replace the usual pizza bread with a vegan dough for the crust, mix up your own special tomato sauce, top the entire pizza with vegetables (I recommend broccoli, tomatoes, spinach and bell peppers), and instead of using mozzarella cheese you can just replace that with shredded vegan cheese. There’s a good chance that once you try vegan pizza you won’t want to stop eating it.

Veggie Wraps

Instead of eating a heavy sandwich made of meat and bread, eat a veggie wrap that’s full of nutritious ingredients. Try filling a tortilla shell with some of your favorite veggies like bell peppers, spinach, onions, tomatoes and even black beans and vegan cheese. Instead of the tortilla shell you can also use a large spinach or kale leaf to wrap your veggies in. Once that’s done eat up!

Vegan Tacos

Vegan tacos are just as good as a regular taco and get you in the fiesta spirit. When eating vegan tacos, replace the ground meat with beans or other things like chickpeas or soy crumbles. To give the tacos some extra spice you should add things like onions, spinach, cilantro, avocado and more of your fave toppings.

Smoothies, juices, beverages, drinks variety

Veggie Smoothies

Smoothies are by far the easiest thing to make when trying to transition to a vegan lifestyle. There are a variety of ways to prepare a smoothie. Most simply require veggies (kale or spinach), frozen fruit (bananas, blueberries, strawberries or watermelon) and soy milk, juice or water. Once you have the ingredients you want, put it all in a blender and mix it up. One of these drinks could easily replace one of your meals for the day.
