The Holidays are here and this weekend will be the BEST weekend to shop, but I want you Fashionistas to be extremely mindful of what you are buying.

Over the years Black Friday has become extremely overrated. I mean some stores offer some amazing deals, but some don’t. There have been times that I felt taken advantage of because I spent so much money.  I want you fashionistas to be mindful when you are out shopping this Friday. Here are a few tips to make sure your wallet is not being taken advantage of.

  • Price Hikes

Some stores will hike up their prices before opening and then add a discount on top to make it seem like you are getting a deal, but in all honesty you are paying the original price.

  • Buy One Get Ones

Some stores will double the price of your first item and offer you the second item for free or half off. You may end up paying for the price of two or even worse two and a half

  • Check out Mistakes

Pay attention when you are checking out! Some sales may not come up or some coupons may not take either. Stores will be busy and cashiers have one goal…get you out of their line as quickly as possible, so they may make some mistakes.

  • Arrive Early

Stores may offer gift cards or special coupons to customers that arrive when they first open. I actually went to the mall over the week and I was informed that Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, and Windsor may be offering special deals for customers that arrive early.

If you don’t make it out this Friday…no worries you will still have more and possibly better opportunities to catch some deals.

Small Business Saturdays was dedicated to businesses that are not a part of the mainstream retail industry. I love this day because it shines a light on business owners around the country. They need our support just as much as the big box stores. In most cases you will be able to find items for cheaper!

If you hate large crowds and long lines then Cyber Monday is for you! You can shop from a larger selection and receive the same deals as you would as if you were in the store from the comforts from your own home. Online deals may already be available so make sure you check out your favorite online stores NOW!

I am a 25 year old from 219, Indiana. I love shopping for pieces that are different and that I know nobody else will have! But one thing I hate about shopping is going broke doing so. Throughout the years of me working in retail, I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks for saving LOTS of money when shopping. I also go against trends by Vintage shopping. I find pieces that I can pair together to create works of art. You can call me a penny pincher, but I’ll look BOMB while pinching my pennies :)
