So last night I was doing my nightly news feed scan and I came across the most incredible picture I have EVERRRR  laid eyes on. It was black beauty at its finest. This photo was posted on Saint Heron’s Instagram page.

If you’re not familiar with Saint Heron it was presented by Solange’s record label Saint Records.

“Saint Heron is a cultural hub celebrating diversity, innovation and progression in music, art, and culture.”

Saint Heron gives artists a platform to showcase their art.  The person responsible for this beautiful photo is Shani Crowe  (IG: crowezilla). She is a Chicago- based artist that has turned hair braiding into immaculate works of art. I always like to think of my hair as an accessory when I’m getting dressed, but she has turned hair-braiding into the main attraction. The photograph exhibit “Braids” made its debut last spring.  Shani brought the Braids exhibit to life with real models dressed in designs by James Flemons  (IG: phlemuns) at the house of Saint Heron. Shani Crowe has brought back the glory of African American hair.

I am a 25 year old from 219, Indiana. I love shopping for pieces that are different and that I know nobody else will have! But one thing I hate about shopping is going broke doing so. Throughout the years of me working in retail, I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks for saving LOTS of money when shopping. I also go against trends by Vintage shopping. I find pieces that I can pair together to create works of art. You can call me a penny pincher, but I'll look BOMB while pinching my pennies :)
