According to NBC Chicago, a body found burned on Chicago’s West Side over the weekend has been identified as 15-year-old, Demetrius Griffin Jr., freshman at Steinmetz High School. The body was found around 1:25 a.m. Saturday inside a burning garbage can in the city’s South Austin neighborhood, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The cause and manner of death is “pending further studies.”

Chicago police are looking for whoever’s responsible, possibly a man who may have accidentally burned himself while setting the body on fire.
