I love Ella Mai. Even before anyone started listening to what others like to believe as her only song, “Boo’d Up,” I was already listening to sis. A talented musician with vocals like hers and #relatable lyrics is so hard to find in the age of many musicians that try to imitate the 90’s R&B hits, but epically fail. So, why do y’all do sis like this?  Y’all play her song on the radio, in your snaps, and in your cars over and over, acting like this is the only song that she has out. I get it. This song is one of your summer ‘18 anthems, but she has quite a few great songs that you can bump to, vibe to, and dance to.

In case, you didn’t know, Ella Mai has three whole EP’s. So, I encourage you to broaden your horizons and listen to more of her work. I’m not telling you to stop playing “Boo’d Up” indefinitely. It’s a good song and it’s not like most of you guys would listen to me anyway. I’m just begging you to stop playing it as often, especially the radio stations because I’m not the only one that’s kinda getting sick of it. Check out these four other great songs by Ella Mai that you can vibe to.

Number One : 10,000 Hours

The song “10,000 Hours” is featured on her 2016 EP entitled, CHANGE. This song is one of my all time favorites, as it is inspired by Malcolm Gladwell’s book “Outliers” which suggests that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to master a craft. Hence, “They say practice makes perfect.” In this case, Ella Mai says it takes 10,000 hours to master the art of love. I guess you guys better put that work in! Use this song as your guide and you’re good to go.

Number Two: “Nobody Else”

This song right here is a bop! “Nobody Else” is the third track on the 2017 EP called Ready. If you don’t want your significant other to have a side piece, this song here is for you. Ella Mai sings that she doesn’t want her man to mess with anybody else, but her because nobody can understand what they have together. It’s so good, you guys might have to play-out this song just like you did with “Boo’d Up.”

Number Three: “Old Dog, New B****”

Is your significant other acting up? Do you need to teach them a lesson? Listen to “Old Dog, New B****” on the Time EP  because Ella Mai has got it all figured out. It’s time to move on because you “can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” This song will definitely have you in your fe fe’s. Listen at your own risk.

Number Four: “Naked”

In the 2017 single “Naked,” Ella Mai wants to be accepted just the way she is, without all the “big shirts, the tattoos, the sweatpants and van.” She wants someone that loves her deeper than what’s on the outside. Someone who will love her for who she is under the makeup and behind all the lights and cameras.

You guys should already know that I would never send you off, so take my advice. Turn off “Boo’d Up” for a minute, enjoy and vibe to these four songs by Ella Mai. Put your friends and family on. You’re welcome!
