Have you ever been at a loss for words when talking to your boo? Is the conversation between you two dry as toast? Well, here are eight things that you and your sweetie can talk about instead of giving the same old answers to the tired question “WYD?”

  1.  Dreams and Aspirations

Ask your bae where they see themselves in the future? Do they want to go to college? What college do they want to attend? What career do they want to pursue? Where do they want to travel?

  1. Music

Who is your boo’s favorite artist? What concerts has he/she been to and want to go to? Ask to follow their playlists on Apple Music, Spotify or Soundcloud.

  1. Family

What do you know about your bae’s family? Does he/she have siblings? What is their family like? Don’t press on the issue and only discuss their family if they’re willing to open up.

  1. Spill Some Tea

Ask your boo about their day. Ten times out of ten he/she will love the fact that you care enough to ask them about what happened over the past hours. Don’t be dry, but don’t be messy either! You want to show genuine interest. Afterwards, you can gradually tell them about your day. You don’t want to seem self-absorbed, so ask them about their day first.

  1. Rant/Vent

If you trust them and if they trust you, start a rant about things that bother you.

  1. Play some iMessage Games

This is so simple, yet it keeps the conversation or “talking stage” entertaining.

  1. Talk Politics

Topics in this category keep the conversation flowing and give you an idea on how your boo feels about modern day America, letting you know if they’re “WOKE.” If they don’t want to talk, don’t press the issue. Respect that and move on to the next topic.

  1. Things that you’re looking for in a relationship

Your bae does not want to hear about your exes, and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to hear about theirs. With that being said, don’t dwell on past relationships. Talk about things that you’re looking for in this current relationship, or if you want to work your way up to a relationship with your boo.

There you have it! You are now prepared to turn your dry conversation into a lit one.
