Deadpool’s the merc with a mouth, but that doesn’t mean he and his actor don’t have hearts of gold (At least the times when Deadpool has a heart). Ryan Reynolds, the famed actor beneath Deadpool’s mask, decided to do a little favor for some of his fans. He invited children with cancer who are involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Children’s Wish Foundation to the studio lot where he and his team are filming Deadpool 2, ABC News reports.

With gifts and pictures in store for the little tots, each child was given a chance to take a picture with Reynolds, while he was dressed as Deadpool, and spend the day with him. On Reynolds’s Instagram, the actor said, “These foundations make dreams come true for a lot of super-brave kids. They also make dreams come true for parents, who just wanna see their kid smile. HUGE thanks to our Prop Master, Dan Sissons, for making sure every kid left with his/her own sword. (Bamboo versions. Not stabby-stabby versions.)” How kind of him!

Of course no good deed goes unpunished, because some time after posting the images on Instagram, a “fan” decided to criticize the actor, claiming:

Guys Deadpool is (a) R rated movie and those kids are watching it… I think something is wrong here.”

How pleasant, concerning and totally not unnecessary. Reynolds thought so, seeing as how he fired back with, “Yup. Deadpool is rated R. If my kid went through a fraction of the sh–t these kids deal with daily, I think they can watch whatever they like. That’s just my .02 cents.”

Deadpool and Reynolds: Sassy, passive-aggressive, and giving kids the type of care that they deserve. A true (anti)hero to look up to.
