Chicago’s very own Nia Kay, a former contestant on the reality show “The Rap Game,” recently celebrated her Sweet 16 on December 8th at the Chitown Futbol. Teens from all over the city who rsvp’d in a timely manner were among the guests that made up the crowd.

If you were among the first to walk in, like I was, you saw lots of security guards and a line of people. Before guests could enter the party area Fresh Empire representatives were there surveying everyone in the line about smoking. Once you got inside it was beautiful! The first thing you saw was a silver balloon arch that spelled out “Nia Kay.” The birthday girl hooked her guests up with a photo booth, a candy table, catered soul food and of course music. There was also a private VIP section for her and her special guests, which were mostly cast members from “The Rap Game.”

Kay made an entrance in her peach party dress and long grey and peach colored hair. She came to the stage and performed one of her new songs then let DLow, the host for the night, continue doing his thing. She said hey to the crowd and thanked everyone for coming. Later on, she took the stage again and performed two unreleased songs and her popular song “Issa.”

There were many performers in attendance including Chicago rappers Queen Key and Phor. After dropping some of her own bars, Kay had “The Rap Game” artists Deetranada, Prince of New York, Lil Key, Flau’jae, and Street Bud perform for the crowd. She even joined them on a couple of tracks. Kay also had a few “Instagram famous” people come and perform including Atlanta’s  @chythegreatest, @famouskaylajla, @hollywoodvoni, and from Chicago, @twinnem.

After the crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to Kay the party continued. It was honestly a great party. Once again, we say “Happy birthday Nia!”
