Beyonce is a prime example of Black people having to work ten times harder to earn the same title, economic status, and rank as White people. As recent as of Monday, November 20, 2017, Beyonce topped the Forbes list as the world’s highest paid woman in the music industry at $105 million, beating out Taylor Swift. Trailed by Adele at $69 million and Taylor Swift at $44 million, Queen Bey represents a core American value—working hard to achieve your goals.

Beyonce accomplishing this status is revolutionary, as Black women are the most discriminated against group of people in America. Facing both gender inequality and racial inequality, Mrs. Carter continues to overcome societal odds and comes out on top. Queen Bey topping the Forbes list is not only a win for her, but a win for all Black girls who also come from a world of people who tell them they are unworthy and cannot succeed. Beyonce is breaking the barrier, as she is more than a singer—she is an intelligent businesswoman who is smart with her money.

Queen Bey has reigned over the music industry for many years, and she will continue to reign over it for many years to come. Congratulations Beyonce!
