This past Monday the annual Met Gala was held in New York City, NY. Hundreds of stars flooded the red carpet in their extravagant ensembles.

If you don’t know what the MET Gala is and why it’s held every year…here is a quick history lesson.

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum Of Art’s Costume Institute. Each year there is a themed picked to the match the grand opening of Costume Institution’s annual Fashion exhibit. The MET Gala has been active since 1948.

This year’s theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

For the last couple years Rihanna has been killing the game! Every year she shows up on point and this year was not any different.

Rihanna showed up in a pope-inspired ensemble. Maison Margiela and John Galliano collided to make this astonishing mini dress and overcoat duo. The entire piece was hand-beaded. Rihanna even told You-tube personality Liza Koshy “ It feels expensive”. To complete the look Rihanna wore a ceremonial headdress made by Stephen Jones millinery to resemble the likeness of a pope.

Stephen Jones is a one of the most important milliners of the 20th and 21st century. A milliner is a person who makes hats for women.

There were other stars that came to slay, but Rihanna’s had the most memorable look of the night!

I am a 25 year old from 219, Indiana. I love shopping for pieces that are different and that I know nobody else will have! But one thing I hate about shopping is going broke doing so. Throughout the years of me working in retail, I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks for saving LOTS of money when shopping. I also go against trends by Vintage shopping. I find pieces that I can pair together to create works of art. You can call me a penny pincher, but I'll look BOMB while pinching my pennies :)
