Where I’m from its so hard to keep connected with people that are on the same wave length as you. I love fashion and I know a lot you all feel the same way.

I follow a lot of people in the fashion industry and to my surprise a fashion based support group was hiding in my own backyard.

“The Runwayaddicts is a Chicago bases fashion collective that consist of a network of creative that currently work in the industry or have a heightened interest in fashion culture.”

I have been following Runwayaddicts for the last 2 years and they ALWAYS have something going on! The one thing that I was always drawn to was the fact that they love denim! Denim was and still is my first love. It’s how I started out getting to know myself through fashion. Well, I finally worked up the nerve a few months ago to attend one of their events and it was nothing short of amazing.

I saw the group post on Instagram that they were having a fashion forum. I learned so much and being involved in an open discussion about the fashion industry was so inspiring.

The Runwayaddict also cross promote with AMFM, which is an art gallery that host a bunch of fashion shows, small concerts, and art shows. Later that day I was able to attend a stylist curated fashion show that inspired me even more.

The Runwayaddicts is the perfect space to express your creative energy and also a gateway to enjoy other fashion based activities around Chicago. I have only been to two events so far, but both events have encouraged me to reach more when it comes to my creativity.

Please follow Runwayaddicts and nationofindago on Instagram to see when their next event is!

The Gold Effect

I am a 25 year old from 219, Indiana. I love shopping for pieces that are different and that I know nobody else will have! But one thing I hate about shopping is going broke doing so. Throughout the years of me working in retail, I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks for saving LOTS of money when shopping. I also go against trends by Vintage shopping. I find pieces that I can pair together to create works of art. You can call me a penny pincher, but I'll look BOMB while pinching my pennies :)
