Why I’m Taking A Break From Relationships

About a month ago, I began to question myself on whether or not being in a relationship right now is actually good for me. One reason is because I’m tired of wasting my time, and two because I just want to spend time getting to know myself without having to worry about what the next person is doing.

See, nowadays in the dating world, our generation tends to waste a lot of time unless you land the perfect catch. Personally, my time being wasted seems to be the most consistent catch that I always land. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that everyone doesn’t have good intentions because there are genuine people out there. They’re just not easy to find. But if you do happen to disagree with me and you are actually looking to be in a relationship, I advise you to consider dating first. On the other hand if you do see things from my perspective, here are my tips on why I think taking a break is a good thing.

I mean, just think about it. When you’re not in a relationship, you don’t have to worry about what anybody is doing, who they’re spending time with, or what’s the particular reason as to why they didn’t text you back. Ever since I decided to just chill instead of jumping into a relationship with someone, I’ve been sleeping peacefully every night.

When you’re single, this means you can do whatever you want whenever you want, which means less drama. You won’t have to worry about being put in a situation where you have to hear the next person telling you about who your boyfriend or girlfriend was “supposedly” texting last week.

When you’re not in a relationship, you can simply live your life to the fullest on your time and your time only, which means less stress. I’m not telling you that you shouldn’t date anyone because there’s nothing wrong with getting to know a person. But really take the time to get to know them for who they are before you go jumping into a relationship. Until then, go out, live your best life and enjoy being single. Trust me, you ain’t missing nothing.
