There has been an intense discussion over whether or not perhaps we celebrate artist after their death simply for the fact that they died. It is important to consider the character of the person and what they have done, which is something we have done here at TrueStar. But whether or not you were a fan of his, what XXXTentacion has accomplished now is quite impressive.

According to The Source, XXXTentacion —real name Jahseh Onfroy—is the first artist to posthumously grab the No. 1 spot in the Billboard Hot 100 since Biggie Smalls did the same in 1997 with “Mo Money Mo Problems”. XXXTentacion’s single “SAD!” jumped from No. 52 to No. 1 following his death. Billboard also reported that his last album “?” was streamed 48.9 million times in the past week, which is a 264 percent increase.

Onfroy may be remembered for the domestic abuse issues, his mental issues or the fact that he was trying to better himself before his passing.  But no matter what, his fans have shown what they want him to be remembered for most: his music.

A public funeral for Jahseh Onfroy will be held on June 27 from 12 to 6 p.m. in Sunrise, Florida. The service will be at the Florida Panthers stadium. It will allow fans to say their final goodbye.
