Hey Fashionistas!

New Year’s Eve is around the corner and it’s LIT! Some of you are already prepared and have your fits ready to go, but some of us are not! You ladies know me by now…I am superrrr last minute when it comes to putting an outfit together, but sometime a little stress can make your outfit great J.

I asked myself 3 questions before I went shopping and it helped me out A LOT!

  1. Where are you going?
  2. What will the weather be?
  3. What type of style are you going for?

These questions are important because it will help you narrow down your search and also help you focus on what you NEED. Most of the time when I go shopping for an outfit I am all over the place because I did not think about what I needed prior.

  1. I am going to a kickback
  2. It will be FREEZING. Temperatures will be in single digits!
  3. I want to be sexy, but comfortable.

I automatically know that since it will be cold that I want to dress in layers or include outerwear in my look. I know that since I want to be sexy and comfortable that whatever I buy needed to be stretchy and formfitting. I know that since I am going to a kickback that I should wear comfortable shoes.

Now that I have assessed what I needed it was time to go search for the perfect outfit!

I went to the mall and I visit several stores to get a feel of what each one had to offer. Some stores were awesome and others were not so awesome. I was able to find some favorites in 3 stores. I wanted to give you fashionistas a guide, so you can avoid visiting stores that don’t have much to offer.

Forever 21

Of course forever 21 is on my list… it’s my absolute fav store! This store has plenty of pieces that are perfect for New Year’s Eve. If you are a penny pinchers like me then this is the perfect place for you. Forever 21 places NYE pieces at the front of the store and most of it is 50% off. I saw a lot of velvet and sequence pieces that you will be able to pair with anything. The downside to this is there was not much variety, so you may have to shop at other stores to complete your look.

I love Akira because it’s your one stop shop. You will be able to find an amazing ensemble, accessories, and shoes. Akira has NYE Pieces EVERYWHERE in their store. They offer a variety of styles from elegant to sexy… you will be able to find pretty much anything you need. The downside to this is of course the price. If you plan on shopping at Akira for NYE…get your wallets ready!

Windsor has plenty of head turning dresses that you will love. Most of the dresses I saw were form fitting and had a lot of intricate details. They also have a lot of formal wear available. Their prices are really affordable. The downside to Windsor is that I only saw dresses. I did not see any sets or jumpsuits. They also have a smaller selection of shoes.

I hope this will help you ladies! You have until Sunday afternoon to get your looks together! Remember stores will most likely be closed by 6pm, so make sure you do your shopping prior to then!

Happy Shopping and Happy New Year!

I am a 25 year old from 219, Indiana. I love shopping for pieces that are different and that I know nobody else will have! But one thing I hate about shopping is going broke doing so. Throughout the years of me working in retail, I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks for saving LOTS of money when shopping. I also go against trends by Vintage shopping. I find pieces that I can pair together to create works of art. You can call me a penny pincher, but I'll look BOMB while pinching my pennies :)
